| About Tom |
|
Tom Lucero is committed to conservative values in every area of his life. This father of three is from Johnstown, Colorado. His past community service includes membership on the Johnstown Town Board, Johnstown Planning and Zoning, and United Way of Greeley. He is a businessman who recently sold his Northern Colorado pizza franchises. Tom has been active in the Republican Party for many years. In 1998, he was elected to the University of Colorado (CU) Board of Regents from Congressional District 4. He was re-elected in 2004. His six-year term expires in 2011. Advancing academic freedom and strengthening core curriculum are high on Tom’s list of priorities. He has been instrumental in creating the Center for Western Civilization at the University of Colorado. The Center is dedicated to the teachings of Western history and philosophy, culminating in an in-depth analysis of the American Founding. This important new program will open to students in the fall of 2006.
Tom is also a Board member for the Institute for Effective Governance , which provides services to the trustees of colleges and universities across the nation. |
